USRF.org Selected as a "Best Site" in Urology

The independent medical website rating company MDWEB.COMpendium has selected, reviewed and rated USRF.org as a "best site" for medical information on general urology. USRF.org was recently awarded a rating of 3 stars ("EXCELLENT") in the two categories, 'Quality of Information' and 'Ease of Navigation'. Of the many urology websites, only 8 were so distinguished with a "best site" designation and have 3 stars in both categories.

A nice blend of solid research and light-hearted commentary gives this site an enjoyable tone. The medical director of the Urological Sciences Research Foundation authors most of the scientific abstracts; other scientific material can be accessed through links to other sites. The site, which includes a search engine, also connects viewers to articles on urology that appear in the general press. The site has a Research in Progress section. The Urolink of the Month feature highlights new Web sites pertinent to urologists.

The USRF website was one of the first websites in all of urology, having been organized and posted to the World Wide Web in 1996.

• The site was designed by Joe Maller, a graphic designer educated at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. Maller's original video production, "All Day Ice Cream," aired July 14, 2000 on the New York PBS station as part of the Reel New York series.
• Current website maintenance is by Anthony Cancio, a recent USC graduate. Fight On Trojans!
• Hosting is by UrologyChannel.com.
• Content is under the supervision of Leonard S. Marks, M.D., medical director of USRF.
