In 2004, the 74-year-old Earl Eskridge became dissatisfied with the medication he’d been taking for his enlarged prostate.

On August 10, 2004, he underwent TUMT.

PROLOGUE

  1. Earl describes his urinary symptoms before beginning TUMT. (0:39) QuickTime

THE PROCEDURE

  1. During TUMT, Earl's temperatures are monitored on Prostatron control panel. (0:17) QuickTime
  2. Five minutes into the procedure, Earl describes a sensation of warmth. (0:18) QuickTime
  3. Middle of procedure, Dr. Marks describes catheter positioning. (0:31) QuickTime
  4. Real-time ultrasound shows catheter in position. (0:15) QuickTime
  5. Toward the end of the procedure, Earl reports “no pain.” (0:36) QuickTime

THREE DAYS LATER
